Been gone for a while. Finally better. Things are crazy here so I'll try a longer post tonight.

Flu...

What started as a tickle at the back of my throat yesterday has developed into the full blown flu. Aches and pains,. headache, fever, chills, sore throat, congestion the works. I can't be sick now! Leon gets here in two days. This illness better be gone by then...

Tea time, book time...sleep time???

So my coworker/friend Minhwa is leaving tomorrow to go visit her fiance in Europe. I'm going to miss her the weeks that she is gone. And not even because I have to teach her classes, lol. I've started growing closer to her. So to honor her last(but not really last) day here we went to a tea/coffee/cake place in Anyang. So first of all, Anyang is way bigger than I ever remember it being. I strolled around the bookstore while I waited for her. I wanted to take a picture but I didn't want to offend the book people around me so I'll just show you what I bought..."Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"-this book interested me the first time I read it. I actually read it to understand more about my womanliness rather than about men. "Bridget Jones..."-I love the movies so I'm hoping I'll really enjoy the books. Stephen King...I love just about everything from this man so I picked a book at random that I haven't read yet. After that we walked around Anyang for a little bit and headed to the tea place. So I suck at picture taking so I didn't think to take a picture of the outside. But next week I am going back with Leon so I'll do better. We ordered a chocolate cake, vanilla latte and cafe irish...Then we just chatted for a few hours and enjoyed the night before I walked her home and then cabbed it back to Pyeongchon. I had a semi-coherent conversation in Korean with the cab driver. That little bit made me want to strive to learn Korean even more. Now I'm sitting here doing laundry...
...and trying to convince myself to prep for the rest of the week......when all I really want to do is cuddle up to Kogepan-pillow and enjoy my night in front of the boob tube......hmph...

So I am back with another fun update. Well things are going well here. I am feeling back to 100% and a bit on top of the world. We just got back our ratings from the company. Honestly I was terrified to get mine. I am always way tougher on myself than other people are on me. But I actually did amazingly well. Even that I have a hard time believing. Despite one coworker's disbelief I have no idea how to take compliments. Sure guys tell me I'm attractive. I just figure they want something a but more physical so I don't really take them seriously. But getting an actual heartfelt compliment or a 'great job' at work leaves me flabbergasted on how to respond. So usually if I do something right I tend to keep it to myself. I'm way too sensitive to other people's compliments and depending on the person their insults as well...

Well anyhoo, I'm going to try to keep my good mood going for as long as possible. I got a great rating last term so I just need to keep it up. I should have more confidence in my teaching. Especially since it seems like I am actually not bad at it...

Oh! And the exchange rate went down!

I hope it holds until I can exchange money on Monday...

Food poisoning...

Thought I was fine but it finally happened. Headache, fever, nausea...not keeping food in my body at all. Got some meds from the pharmacy. Now in bed dying slowly but surely...fun...
