Swine Flu....house arrest?

So it has been a while since I posted. Sorry guys. I know I had said I would have more Japan pics coming soon. But at least I left you with an interesting last entry right?

Well I am back, though I definitely can't promise to write as often as I should. Frankly my life is very uneventful. My days are filled with the pitter-pattering(more like pounding) of little feet going in and out of my classroom. Well normally that is. However the reason for my title is something that is beginning to affect many people....Swine Flu.

My company has shut down all of its hagwons until next Wednesday because of this Swine Flu outbreak. As a result I find myself with a paid vacation and being stuck in the house. Now, me staying in the house is not a voluntary move on my part. We are being monitored to ensure that we follow the rules set forth in the past few days where we cannot take public transportation and if we leave we must wear masks over our face.

Now I do understand the move. You want the parents to trust that you are looking out for the well-being of their children. As long as I getting paid for my involuntary confinement I am ok with it. As long as it doesn't last too long. I am not normally a really sedentary person so this staying in the house is starting to chafe. But I actually like/need my job so I won't do anything to jeopardize it....

I'm willing to bet that the Koreans working for your school aren't enduring similar restrictions. They ought to be wearing masks or nobody should have to wear them. I was one of the confirmed cases and I likely got it from a sick KOREAN (I shared a training group with her.) Anyway, nice writing! web.me.com/superacidjax is my blog on the subject..
